Lakewood schools to close? Parents told to make ‘alternate plans’

Above: What can be done to improve relations between Orthodox and non-Orthodox communities?

LAKEWOOD — The township’s public schools may close Monday as a result of the financial pressures facing the district, where officials say money will run out before the end of the next school year.

Administrators said on the district website that parents should make “alternate plans” for their children. School leaders called it a “precautionary measure” due to the “unknown fiscal situation.”

Last week, the Lakewood school board approved a 2019-20 budget that the district doesn’t have the money to fund. Its lawyer and several administrators also went to court Wednesday to plea for help, saying the district cannot afford to keep schools open beyond March.

Special education and transportation account for about 40 percent of the public schools’ expenses. The district enrolls about 6,000 students, but also is responsible for costs of transportation and certain services for Lakewood’s more than 30,000 private school children.

Administrators have sought Trenton’s help in closing the school district’s growing budget holes, using combinations of grants and loans.

A Home… A House of Worship… A “Charity”? Lakewood, NJ Tax Exemptions, John Oliver Where are You?

RISE UP OCEAN COUNTY:

PROBLEM WITH TAX EXEMPT PROPERTIES AND THE DESTRUCTION OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Given that one of the main issues that our county faces is the growing number of tax-exempt properties, this screenshot came across our desks this morning. Toms River seems to be following in other town’s footsteps.

1191 Hickory Street is a known place of worship. The residents know this, and the township knows this. Every Friday night to Sunday there are no less than 15-20 cars in the driveway and street during this time (and with a conservative average of 2 people per car that makes 30-40 people staying at this house EVERY single weekend). Also, several times during the week, we are told that they see dozens of individuals walking, driving, parking, getting out of the commuter van, and going into and out of this place of worship. Residents have called to complain about the dangerous conditions driving in this area with people walking in the middle of the streets, cars parked over the white lines, and the fact that 3-4 dozen people utilize this house as a motel/hotel every weekend. All of the resident’s concerns about this property, once again have fallen on deaf ears. As one resident has told us this morning, this is something they have become accustom to.

Based on their assessed value and other properties of similar assessed values, 1191 Hickory Street should be paying upwards of $16,500-$17,000 a year in property taxes. However, the state and the town have approved this property at 1191 Hickory Street, as a Church/Charitable. Which means at this moment, this property owner has a reduced tax bill. This is a 6 bedroom/3 bath house in North Dover with an assessed value of $755,500 and now after the most recent reduction this property currently will pay only $11,836.20 (based on last and this coming quarter’s amounts X 4) (so far), a reduction from the $16,500 – $17,000 they should be paying. But keep in mind chances are they will follow in the footsteps of 2302 Tapestry Court, another known place of worship, which originally had a similar reduction only to be fully tax exempt a short period of time later. This means this homeowner (2302 Tapestry Court) currently pays absolutely nothing in property taxes for an assessed value of a home and property of $646,400. This is due in part to the procedures within the state of New Jersey AND Toms River Township. While both blame the other, they are both to blame for allowing this.

The major problem we see with this type of recklessness is the tax-exempt properties of this magnitude, will further destroy an already deeply indebted Toms River School system with this loss of property tax revenue. This is only the second house of worship in this area to have a reduction or complete exemption, which we are sure that there are many to come.

Since Lakewood seems to be the town with the most tax revenue/school/ bussing issues we looked further into the tax-exempt properties. What we found will be discussed in length at a future date but just to give you an insight to what we found, one organization has roughly $107,000,000 in assessed value property in Lakewood alone, of which $98,000,000 (approx.) is tax exempt. Based on the tax calculation description on http://www.lakewoodnj.gov/department/tax-collector, that is an approximate loss of tax revenue of $2,261,840 a year to the township of Lakewood for this ONE organization and its’ properties.

So we leave you with this question, is it ok that these homes are given tax exemptions for organizations that are not even domiciled in this state, let alone this county?

Threats Against Bloggers By a Community that Does not Want the Truth to Come to Light – Keeping Their Own in Darkness…

SILENCING TRUTH – HIDING DARKNESS… HARASSMENT AND THREATS

We are fully reposting from  a facebook post on Clarkstown What They Don’t Want You to Know (Clarkstown, New York) They have sited to a site called “Rise Up Ocean County” Threats and harassment appear to be the modus operandi of anyone attempting to silence scrutiny. Shoot the messenger if you cannot shoot down the message.

It should be noted that over the last 48 hours the blogger now associated with LostMessiah has been threatened, harassed and had her personal information left in the comments section of various articles. That last one we decided to delete, with the full expectation that it will be thrown out there again.

One can only imagine, if this is the way those feeling threatened within the ultra-Orthodox community respond to websites and posts that bring darkness within their community to light, then how do they treat those from within that community who want to escape, those who have gone off the derech (OTD). We are raised in supportive families and communities.

Many from within who want to leave, become entirely isolated. It’s something to think about.

A Documentary About Ocean County, New Jersey In The Year 2030 Stirs Religiously Based Protests And Threats Of Violence

In what could be called an embarrassing case of “premature denunciation”, some decidedly anti-First Amendment persons have condemned the documentary ‘Ocean County 2030’ produced by the admins of the Facebook page “Rise Up Ocean County” which has not yet been released and the protestors have not yet seen.

This grandiose and infantilizing “We will decide for all of you what can be discussed in our community” attempt at a religiously-based power grab will take the form of a so called “multi-faith” press conference.

The ‘Rise Up Ocean County’ Facebook group has been growing it’s numbers and truth telling on a level that has taken the corrupt powers in NJ completely by surprise.

They seem genuinely frightened by the political awakening going on among the citizenry.

Rather than debate the facts, the bloc puppets seem to be debating whether the facts can be debated at all.

Given this documentary has not been released we will not comment on its content or message, but we can say in the general sense that history plays out with the corrupt trying to take away the rights of the abused at the exact moment when the abused decide to articulate their mistreatment.

We here at CWTDWYTK feel for those abused by the anti-goyim behaviors of the Frum Supremacists gathering in parts of NJ. The residents of Rockland County are also experiencing similarly painful mistreatment being called on a daily basis “anti-Semites” and worse.

Therefore, we wish RUOC well in exposing to a wider audience the abuse they have been suffering by the bad behaviors of those unfortunately suffering from a debilitating bondage of their minds.

We too have seen some of these manipulative, yet laughable, “press conferences” in Rockland County where ill-mannered elected officials, such as Legislator Aron Wieder, step to a live microphone and with little education, no skills, and no facts, try to play victim politics.

We suspect the New Jersey bloc operatives and bloc puppets when they have to verbally fend for themselves will prove equally inept.

Therefore we wish the admins of RUOC good luck in continuing to exercise their right to free speech and we join them in their refusal to be coerced into silence by religious zealots.

As soon as the Ocean County 2030 documentary is available we will publish it for the citizens of Rockland County to discuss.

Here is the “Press Advisory” calling all to apparently pray together for the end of free speech …….

Rise Up Ocean County

On the heels of Lakewood passing a resolution opposing the efforts of Rise Up Ocean County and referring to us as anti-Semitic and in the aftermath of being labeled a hate group that hides behind the anonymity of a Facebook page by Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles in the latest edition of Mizrachi magazine, we were contact via Facebook messenger by Steven Wagner. After reviewing his page he seems to be a legitimate user with ties to guns. His initial message involved a series of photographs, our reply was to ask why he was sending them to us.His answer was “Because you should know, as Virulent Antisemites, not all of us are “Black Hats”…..Some of us are Secular Militant Hebrew Combat Veterans”When we asked if he was implying that secular militant Hebrew combat veterans meant to do harm to someone his answer was succinct: “I’ve been to Prison and Don’t Mind Going Back, McDouche!”This is not the first bit of hate mail that we have received but he also included a link to the story about Lakewood passing their resolution and a multi-faith press conference scheduled for Jackson on Wednesday February 13, 2019.To our knowledge no one in our group has ever suggested violence against anyone, not ever. This is the 26th and most threatening private message that we have received to date.We share this with all of you so that you can understand the lengths to which some have gone to silence us. When elected officials irresponsibly throw gasoline on a fire to satisfy a constituency they should be held to account not only for their actions but the actions that follow.

The Lakewood Whistle-Blower Getting Sued and LostMessiah’s Blogger Getting Subpoenaed in that Suit [VIDEO]

ANOTHER LAWSUIT INTENDED FOR NOTHING MORE THAN TO SILENCE BLOGGERS – LAKEWOOD, NEW JERSEY

Dear Readers:

We are posting this video because it is shockingly relevant, not only to the suit against LostMessiah’s blogger; but because LostMessiah’s blogger has been subpoenaed in the suit against members of the Lakewood community.

On January 8, 2019, the Plaintiff’s attorneys in the case captioned: “Yecheskel “Charlie” Schwab and Datampa Intelligence LLC v. Joyce Blay, Herskel Herskowitz a/k/a Harold Herskowitz, Shlomie Klein a/k/a Shlomo Klein and Abraham Sharaby, Docket No. OCN-L-002695-19” served a subpoena on LostMessiah’s blogger to appear on February 7, 2019 for a deposition and to provide any documents related to communications which may or may not have occurred between LostMessiah and any of the above-reference parties and JLeaks.

Setting aside that this is a waste of everyone’s time and money, we are not altogether unconvinced that this is not an effort by the Plaintiffs in our case to obtain information through alternative means of discovery. Even if we are wrong, there is little reason to drag LostMessiah into the Lakewood battle except to place emphasis on the efforts that will be take to silence bloggers.

We would like to emphasize that the person in the video discusses the fees of the Plaintiff law firm in the Lakewood case. The firm is highly reputable and charges exorbitant rates. In our view their involvement indicates that no expense is being spared to silence those who speak out against the Haredi, mainly Satmar community, whether Lakewood or elsewhere.

Please consider donating to LM to help defray the costs associated with LM’s litigation and now the involvement in Lakewood’s litigation.
