australian-coat-of-arms

We are not so sure that this is really very Civil at All… What’s in a name? A great Irony, indeed.

Is this just giving legitimacy to a new Chabad Organization to wipe the slate clean? Thank you to our contributor for the following.

Chabad Institutions of Victoria Limited – Membership now open –

Dear ………………….,

A Gut Yor and a Gmar Chasima Tovah.

With a new year comes new beginnings and opportunities.

We are pleased to report that, b”H, ASIC has approved the registration of the new entity called Chabad Institutions of Victoria Limited (CIVL).

CIVL will operate the Yeshivah Shules, Kollel, Chabad Youth and Ohel Chana and any other religious organisations run by the Yeshivah.

To download a copy of the Constitution for the new entity, please click here.

For your information a similar email has been sent out to Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah parents in relation to YBRSL, a copy of the YBRSL constitution can be found here.

We would now like to present to you the opportunity to:

  1. become a member of this new entity, CIVL;
  2. express your interest to nominate for a position on the board of directors.

Membership of CIVL

If you are a paid up seat holder (including as part of an agreed payment plan) at any of:

  • Yeshivah Shule;
  • Kollel Minyan;
  • Young Yeshivah; or
  • Daminyan;

you are entitled to membership.

If you wish to apply for membership, please click here and complete the online form.

If you are not a seat holder but live in Victoria and consider yourself to be a Chabad Adherent supported by written confirmation from a practising vocational Chabad Rabbi, you can also apply for membership.  The subscription fee for non-seat holders is $54 per annum.

If you pay for more than one seat, you can nominate an otherwise eligible person for membership through that payment.

Once membership has been confirmed, you will be entered into a membership register.  You will then be eligible to vote in the upcoming elections and may nominate for a position on the board of CIVL.  This is a wonderful opportunity to become actively involved in the future of our moisdos.

Nominating for the board of directors

If you are interested in nominating for a position on the board of CIVL, please click here and complete the online expression of interest form.  At this stage, if you express interest your name will remain confidential until nominations are formalised.
