Garbage, Collection, Yiddish?… Dov Hikind

Dov Hikind Thanks the New York City Department of Sanitation

The following was posted on Assemblyman Dov Hikind’s Facebook Page.

“Just a reminder: the garbage collection changes will be coming to Boro Park, Brooklyn next week!
I can’t thank New York City Department of Sanitation enough for their efforts and cooperation in changing their pick-up schedules to alleviate traffic congestion in the community.”

We need to ask the question a few questions:

WHO IS PAYING THE WORKERS OVERTIME SO THAT THEY CAN ACCOMMODATE THE ULTRA-ORTHODOX IN DOV HIKIND’S DISTRICT?

New York City is pushing for affordable housing, school subsidies, more money. Money makes the world go around, after all….

Somehow Dov Hikind has managed not only to get Yiddish instituted as the language of NYC mailings (presumably only in his district), oh…yeah… and English; but also to get the schedule changed for garbage and recycling collection to accommodate his ultra-Orthodox community.

Can one of our readers, or a few, please let us know whether there are other districts with mailings in the language of the some of the people within the district?

Are all of China Town’s mailings in Chinese?

Are Little Italy’s mailings in Italian?

Are Koreatown mailings in Korean?

Please all… help us out.

Mr. Hikind, just wondering… what were the perks offered to you for this accommodation?
